Local Collaboration Spotlight - Fortuna X Eyes Open

Eyes Open project is an incredibly thoughtful, maker-focused retail concept by super duo Rachel Fortin and Mathieu Mudie. Originally from Montreal they are now curating some of the very best artisans from all over the world.

Fortuna first collaborated with these amigxs on their Made In A City; Mexico City 🇲🇽 event series and retail installation We performed an A/V set live, led a mole tasting workshop, and popped up with the Fortuna truck for a party. We developed a unique line of chocolates highlighting the 'Mexicxn' pantry that was offered alongside fellow Mexicxn artisans and designers, many of whom were hosted by the project in Denver and were on site leading workshops, playing music, painting, serving cocktails and preparing food.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fortuna is crafted with the long term in mind. Premium ingredients for long term health and well being of our humxn bodies, sustainable packaging for the long term health of our home planet, thoughtful sourcing for the long term health of the communities cultivating the cacao we work with. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Our amigxs at Eyes Open Project share our view, stocking well made objects that are the result of master artisans with the long term in mind. Making the investment in objects meant to last equals a rejection of a race to the bottom mentality, one that sacrifices our planet, our resources and our communities.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fortuna designs all of our original labels and branding in collaboration with independent Mexican print-maker Cesar Ramirez. This year our collaboration has extended beyond the computer screen and has produced several murals and objects like these display boxes.
